Peace Protocols I: Conditional Stability

Peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the presence of conditions that make cooperation more rewarding than conflict. Conditional stability is the engineering principle that a system remains peaceful when its members benefit more from participating than from defecting. This is not idealism — it is game theory applied to community design. The Peace Protocols define the conditions under which communities naturally tend toward cooperation: • Transparent resource flows (everyone sees where resources go) • Reciprocal benefit structures (helping others helps you) • Low barriers to participation (the conspiracy is open to all) • High cost of defection (leaving the cooperative structure is costly because it is so beneficial) These are not enforced by authority — they are designed into the system architecture.
